PTC Youth Services, Inc., which owns and operates 18 South Youth Center in Red Lion, Pa., strives to build authentic relationships with youth; encourage teens to grow socially, intellectually, emotionally, and spiritually; and influence the youth of our communities with the Gospel of Jesus Christ. This is accomplished with the generosity and hard work of caring, responsible volunteers from the local community. Please consider joining our team of talented, passionate individuals.

Open Door Night Mentors | Fundraising and Events Committee Members | Afterschool Program Volunteers | Workshop Volunteers | Event Staff Volunteers | Building Maintenance Team | Marketing Team | Board Members

Open Door Night Mentors
Time Commitment: 4-16 hours per month
Mentors are committed to investing in the lives of the teens who attend 18 South. They volunteer at least one night each month during the center’s open door hours, which are 7-10 p.m. on Thursdays and 7-10:30 p.m. on Fridays, and show up half an hour early to help set up and pray in preparation for the evening. Duties include running the center, spending time with the teens, enforcing the center’s rules, assisting the director with various projects, etc.

Fundraising and Events Committee Members
Time Commitment: 1 hour per month, plus events
The committee meets once each month to brainstorm and plan various fundraising initiatives and events that help raise community awareness for the center. Additional meetings may be required for specific events. Past event planning experience is desired but not required.

Afterschool Program Volunteers
Time Commitment: 2-8 hours per month
18 South is working to launch an afterschool program that will offer homework help and study time from 3-5 p.m. at least one day each week. Volunteers are needed to staff the program and offer homework help to teens during at least one two-hour session per month.

Workshop Volunteers
Time Commitment: 2 hours per month
18 South welcomes volunteers to provide learning opportunities to teens. Workshop topics can vary from cooking and finances to music, art, and beyond. Workshops can be a one-time offering or a regularly scheduled event at the center.

Event Staff Volunteers
Time Commitment: Varies based on event frequency and length
Event staff are individuals who are available to provide hands-on support for events throughout the year. Duties can include helping to set up and tear down events, handing out literature during an event, running concessions, etc.

Building Maintenance Team
Time Commitment: Varies based on facility needs
18 South benefits from individuals who can help with various repairs to the facility, improving the look of the center (painting, gardening, etc.), and cleaning. These volunteers are contacted with requests on an as-needed basis and also are encouraged to offer their own creative ideas for improving the facility.

Marketing Team
Time Commitment: Varies based on marketing needs
Graphic designers and other marketing professionals are needed to assist with the creation of flyers, advertisements, t-shirts, newsletters, brochures, and other marketing paraphernalia. This team is committed to creatively spreading the word about 18 South to area youth, attracting businesses to invest in PTC Youth Services, and sharing information regarding fundraising events with the community.

Board Members
Time Commitment: 2 hours per month, plus networking and events
The Board of Directors of PTC Youth Services, Inc. is a volunteer, executive board comprised of individuals who are passionate about and committed to the youth of Red Lion and the surrounding communities. The board meets monthly, and each member serves as an advocate for the center on a continuous basis.
